CIT's OPACS (Object Picture Archiving Communication System) has been developed to provide an accurate quantitative analysis of TLC plates by using a CCD camera covering both visible and UV spectral range. This system increases the sensitivity and resolution of the chromatogram, thus improving the detection limits of components. The image captured is then stored and analyzed through software, which permits determination of Rf values, optical density determination of spot and conversion of TLC spots into Chromatogram.
